Hotel Okura will open its first domestic resort, Okura Resort Hakone Gora, in 2029. The project is a partnership with Nishimatsu Construction (agreement signed July 2025).
Located in Hakone Gora—a major hot spring destination drawing 20 million visitors annually—the resort will offer 58 rooms under a “Forest Hideaway” concept designed by Gwenael Nicolas.
Key Feature: Each room includes a private open-air bath with Owakudani spring water.
Facilities will also include indoor baths, saunas, teppanyaki dining, and a bar lounge. The 2029 opening marks Okura’s expansion into the luxury domestic resort market.
