The fatal incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Frederick, Maryland. According to local authorities, the vehicle, a 1995 Honda Accord, veered off the road and hit a culvert. Investigators have indicated that excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Hottle, who was a passenger, was transported to a nearby trauma center, where she was pronounced dead. The driver, aged 19, sustained injuries but is expected to recover, while another passenger at the scene declined medical treatment.
